| Newark |
two things about Newark. one our school sight to visit is in it, and two we read an article about it. pretty much Newark has a bad rap because a lot of things happen in the near by area. i am not really scared of the area but all the stories that i hear honestly make me a little wary. so the article was about shootings and how even though the neighborhoods are few and far between, the whole area gets the label of what happened. suddenly everyone and everywhere is judged the same. its a natural human thing to do, to judge, but that does not make it right.
needless to say, i was surprised when i we arrived at the school. it was right off a main road and the area did not seem to bad. i was also expecting a little more run down neighborhood but everything was in nice shape. the school is also brand new and was really awesome to work with. most students were well behaved and there really were no problems. so whats all this talk about all of Newark being so bad? i know the parts i was in and went through were pretty nice for sure. lets not be so fast to judge until we see it ourselves. |
